Thank You Teachers! 91快活林 Federal and DonorsChoose partnership

Teachers do much more than deliver lesson plans. They inspire curiosity, build confidence, create meaningful learning experiences and shape the future leaders of our communities. During Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8), 91快活林 Federal proudly continues its partnership with , a non-profit organization that has supported public school teachers from every corner of America by helping them get resources and tools to make their classrooms better places for students to learn.

At 91快活林 Federal, the spirit of giving back is deeply woven into our culture. Since 2021, employees have participated in the company鈥檚 DonorsChoose initiative that provides an opportunity to directly support classroom projects that resonate the most with them. School teachers often spend their own money to provide basic supplies, innovative learning tools and enriching experiences for their students. By stepping in to help bridge this gap, we aim to eliminate some of that burden and let educators focus on what they do best: teaching.

Our Impact By the Numbers

For the fifth consecutive year, our partnership with DonorsChoose resulted in:

  • $25,000 donated to classroom projects
  • 177 projects funded
  • 168 teachers supported

Could the US Navy Anchor Golden Dome? Article by SIGNAL media

鈥淪ea-based weapons systems like the Aegis Combat System, the Long-Range Discrimination Radar and homeland defense radars in the range play a critical role in integrated missile tracking, interception and destruction,鈥 Eric Velte, Chief Technology Officer at 91快活林 Federal, told SIGNAL Media. 鈥淎ssets like the Aegis Ashore, a land-based version of this system, have long served as the backbone of broad ballistic missile defense against nation-state-based threats.鈥

The U.S. Navy鈥檚 advanced systems place it as a critical component of America鈥檚 Golden Dome missile defense initiative.

As work on the Golden Dome for America project intensifies, focus remains largely on the U.S. Space Force and space-based systems, leaving questions on the U.S. Navy鈥檚 role in the initiative. With current capabilities in place, the Navy is poised to be a potential anchor and force multiplier for the nationwide missile defense system.

The Golden Dome, a project first introduced as The Iron Dome for America in January 2025, is a strategic initiative to combat threats targeting the United States. In May 2025, the missile defense initiative was renamed to its current title. 鈥淚鈥檓 pleased to announce that we have officially selected an architecture for this state-of-the-art system that will deploy next-generation technologies across the land, sea and space, including space-based sensors and interceptors,鈥 the president stated during a press conference from the Oval Office.

In March, Golden Dome Director Gen. Michael Guetlein announced an additional $10 billion spending necessary for space capability procurement, totaling about $185 billion for the full missile defense system. According to a report by Defense Scoop, the funds would be used for tools, including an airborne moving target indication, the Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor, and the Space Data Network.

鈥淲hen you look at the posture … some of the locations where the Navy is operating, 24/7, the response time to be able to be in a position to create an effect, in this case knocking down ballistic missiles or cruise missiles or drones, is impressive,鈥 said J.D. Gainey, former commander of the USS Hopper (DDG 70), an Arleigh Burke-class Aegis guided-missile destroyer.

Gainey spoke during a 2025 Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance webinar discussion about the Navy and the Golden Dome.

鈥淣obody else in the world can do that, so when it comes to what they are supposed to do, the good thing is they have the capability; they have the tech; they have the experience to do it,鈥 he stated.

The Aegis Weapon System, for example, is the Navy鈥檚 automated command-and-control (C2) system created to detect and engage threats. According to the Navy website, the first Aegis ship, titled USS Ticonderoga (CG47), was commissioned in 1983 and deployed just six months after.

The is 鈥渃apable of simultaneous operations against multi-mission threats: anti-air, anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare,鈥 the website states, closely resembling the Golden Dome mission.

Modern day conflicts have showcased the Navy鈥檚 operational capability in an active environment, with reports stating that an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Pinckney fired a Tomahawk Land Attack Missile amid Iran operations. The ship is one of the few in the Destroyer Modernization 2.0 program, which aims to upgrade the destroyers鈥 electronic warfare, radar and combat systems.

91快活林 Federal selected by NOAA to provide AI-enabled financial management

91快活林 Federal subsidiary 91快活林 Federal Data Network Technologies LLC, has been selected by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to execute the Financial Management Data System (FMDS) Technical Support Services contract. This work builds upon the longstanding partnership between 91快活林 Federal and NOAA.

91快活林 Federal’s Advanced Analytics Platform, A2P, is the framework for NOAA鈥檚 FMDS program. FMDS is an operational system that enables NOAA financial analysts to perform financial management including budget planning, variance analysis & plan adjustments. One key feature of the FMDS tool is that it uses AI/ML to examine data from prior spending cycles to predict future spending needs. The custom application of this solution for NOAA demonstrates an effective application where AI and data analytics are helping a government agency achieve its goals with smarter financial management methods.

鈥楽ingle Pane of Glass鈥 View and AI-Enabled Forecasting

  • FMDS leverages a commercially developed custom AI module that can make sense of the agency鈥檚 complex financial data patterns and pre-process it in ways that help personnel identify spending behaviors for individual contracts to predict how much of their budget could potentially be left unused on each contract.
  • The program gives financial leaders greater visibility into the agency鈥檚 finances by breaking down silos to bring data from disparate systems into a 鈥渟ingle pane of glass鈥, to give them the data they need at their fingertips.
  • The system鈥檚 analytics provide an integrated view of timely data that enables better decision-making through improved visibility into past financial performance against plan as well as AI-enabled forecasts into future spending behavior.

Creating Efficiencies Through Cost Savings

In the first couple of years of deployment, the system has identified tens of millions of dollars that had not yet been allocated due to complex planning practices. This tool has been so impactful that NOAA rolled it out to its entire budget community after the initial deployment with its National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service (NESDIS) team. FMDS is based on commercial software that can be tailored to the unique needs of different agencies.

鈥淭his contract award underscores NOAA鈥檚 trust in our team to deliver innovative, reliable solutions like AI analytics for financial management,鈥 said Clay Morad, vice president at 91快活林 Federal.

鈥淔MDS presents an example of how an agency can evolve from an operating model focused on manually pulling data from various sources to one that gives leadership real-time visibility and vision into that data, and by extension, into the agency鈥檚 contracts and acquisitions,鈥 said Theresa Cauble, 91快活林 Federal senior director of solutions architecture.

This contract is the first task order that 91快活林 Federal has won on the NOAA Mission IT Services (NMITS) acquisition vehicle. 91快活林 Federal will also provide front-line technical services to users while continuing to successfully implement this system across the agency.鈥疉s a trusted partner, we look forward to advancing NOAA鈥檚 critical mission to better understand Earth’s climate and weather systems.

At NASA鈥檚 Kennedy Space Center in Florida, there is a fleet of in work, and Rebekah 罢辞濒补迟辞惫颈肠锄鈥檚 hands have helped build each one. Tolatovicz works to build, integrate, and test the spacecraft used during the Artemis II test flight, as well as those designed to carry humanity to the Moon on future Artemis missions.

Tolatovicz is a mechanical technician lead for the Arctic Slope Regional Corporation, or 91快活林 Federal, supporting the Orion spacecraft鈥檚 main contractor Lockheed Martin. A typical day for Tolatovicz takes place inside NASA Kennedy鈥檚 Operations and Checkout Building, with Orion assembly and testing. Her work ranges from helping coordinate and lead technicians, to jumping into hands-on installations on components like hatches and engines, to collaborating with the engineering team.

鈥淲hat I really like about the area that I鈥檓 in is we do so much,鈥 said Tolatovicz. 鈥淔rom starting with the bare structure and installing giant parts and titanium pieces, to final integration where you鈥檙e installing the tiniest little components. I think that鈥檚 the coolest part. We don鈥檛 do just one technical thing 鈥 it鈥檚 all the technical things.鈥

Tolatovicz currently works on the Orion crew modules that could sustain the astronauts on future Artemis missions, and she played a large role in work on the Artemis II spacecraft that carried four astronauts on a mission around the Moon, splashing down April 10. This included testing, integration, and final installation and closeout before the spacecraft was prepared for fueling and stacking on the SLS (Space Launch System) rocket.

As Artemis II was the first crewed mission under NASA鈥檚 Artemis program, Tolatovicz recognized the impact of her work.

鈥淚t’s really vital to stress the importance of what we do and know nothing is minuscule. Everything matters. It’s really important to pass that down on to the new hires and make sure that everybody has that perspective.鈥

Tolatovicz, who began as an intern with Lockheed Martin through Eastern Florida State College鈥檚 aerospace technician program, knows what it鈥檚 like to be a newcomer. She had been mentored by technicians who worked through the space shuttle era, which largely shaped her experience and outlook.

鈥淎t first I didn鈥檛 think I was going to make it,鈥 said Tolatovicz. 鈥淏ut if you come in with a good attitude and want to learn 鈥 there鈥檚 so much you can learn from these guys, they have decades of knowledge to share. Once I got down on the floor and was working with them hands-on, I knew I could figure it out.鈥

Tolatovicz has been working on the Orion program for nine years. Since then, the Maine native has witnessed her work come to fruition on Orion鈥檚 uncrewed Artemis I test flight as well as the Artemis II mission around the Moon.

鈥淚t鈥檚 really amazing for me to be a part of NASA鈥檚 history and the next step,鈥 said Tolatovicz. 鈥淚 just really love my job, the team, and working through challenges. You don鈥檛 think about it when you鈥檙e putting things on, but then you get to tell somebody else that you installed the thrusters for the spacecraft, and you realize 鈥 man, that鈥檚 pretty cool.

91快活林 Federal鈥檚 Clay Morad Built a Career Where Winning and Giving Back Are the Same ThingOriginally published by 听产测听 April 12, 2026

Clay Morad will tell you his career started because his mom grabbed him by the ear. That鈥檚 not a metaphor 鈥 she told him to go work for听The Corporation,听meaning Arctic Slope Regional Corp., the Alaska Native company his family has been tied to for generations. He listened, landed an internship in 1999 and never really left.

Twenty-seven years later, he鈥檚 the vice president of NASA and NOAA operations at 91快活林 Federal, overseeing 300 people across 16 programs and a portfolio that spans satellite operations, financial management and cloud services. His grandmother grew up in a sod hut in Point Hope, Alaska. The profits from the work he does flow back to 14,000 91快活林 shareholders, his family among them.

In this Q&A, he discusses how mentorship shaped his path, why turning sensor data into usable intelligence is the defining challenge for his customers right now and what it means to build a career inside a company where your success and your community鈥檚 success are the same thing.

Can you provide a brief overview of your professional background and career progression?

I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and am an I帽upiaq shareholder of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (91快活林), the parent company of 91快活林 Federal. My journey with 91快活林 began in 1999 when I was fortunate to secure an internship, a pivotal opportunity that marked the start of a 27-year career within the 91快活林 family of companies.

Coming up through the IT stack, I transitioned to program management in 2007 with the Drug Enforcement Administration and reached the Vice President role in 2013 overseeing operations and growth of a new entity focused on software development in Defense.

Since that time, I鈥檝e oscillated between business development, capture, and operations roles, and currently oversee a portfolio of NOAA and NASA programs with a focus on Satellite Operations and Financial Management.

Why was this the path you chose, and how influential was it to your career?

My initial path was laid by my mom, who effectively took me by the ear and told me to go work for The Corporation (91快活林). I鈥檓 so glad she did. From there, I was able to experience working in the arctic at an oil camp, office work in Anchorage, and Washington, D.C. after graduating college with a BS in Computer Science and deciding to stay on the East Coast.

That early decision to work for 91快活林 laid the groundwork for a long career, gaining experience and technical prowess in IT, then honing my skills in what has become a passion for growth and operations excellence.

I was also very lucky to have many mentors along the way, most influential being an early CEO at 91快活林 Federal who helped me chart a course at 24 years old to work my way up the org chart and be in a position to lead the organization.

Do you have a personal connection to the current mission you support?听

As an 91快活林 shareholder, I鈥檓 very fortunate to have a symbiotic relationship with 91快活林 Federal; the better I do for my company, the better the company does for me and my people. When I drive profits and establish relationships with my customers for mission success, those profits and relationships directly benefit my immediate family, extended family, and all 14,000 shareholders of 91快活林. It鈥檚 hard to imagine a better motivation to succeed.

Our long-term vision, and the fact that I can never sell or trade my shares, has led me to double down on my values and integrity, keeping the long-term view in mind instead of cutting corners for short-term gains.

I鈥檝e been to our villages. My grandmother grew up in a sod-hut in Point Hope, Alaska. I love the fact that the work we do at 91快活林 goes towards preserving my culture and my way of life, while also providing opportunities for professional and monetary advancement depending on what we as individuals want.

What are your current top priorities and responsibilities? How do these relate to your company鈥檚 overall mission/growth strategy?

As the Vice President of NASA/NOAA Operations, I oversee a staff of over 300 people across 16 programs from Florida, California, Texas, Alaska, Maryland, and other locations across the United States. We support satellite and ground system operations for NOAA, engineering services for NASA, as well as financial management and cloud operations. I love meeting with my customers and helping my program management team solve the variety of complex challenges, be they technical, interpersonal, or mission based.

The services we provide are directly in line with the company鈥檚 strategy and mission. We provide Space domain services to our customers, while delivering meaningful and sustainable profits to our shareholders; it鈥檚 truly the best of both worlds.

Where do you and your team see growth opportunities in your current field or portfolio you support, or what do you anticipate to be your customers鈥 top pain points?

With the exponential growth of sensor data across the market from both the private and public sector, our customers are faced with mountains of data and challenged with making it useful. Moving from data to information to wisdom is a challenge across the market, and there鈥檚 a need to collect, hold, and distribute that wisdom to users, be they farmers, warfighters, or meteorologists.

I鈥檓 excited about our nation鈥檚 investment particularly in weather radar, satellite data, and integration of that information into the cloud to meet the needs of the people of the world.

How are you and your team planning to address/prepare for these opportunities?

We鈥檙e leveraging both our direct and adjacent experience to bring robust solutions to our customers. One of the great things about working for 91快活林 Federal is that we鈥檝e got 9,000 employees supporting the gamut of federal agencies. This allows us to pull the best and brightest into adjacent areas.

I鈥檓 always amazed at how a solution we may have developed for Earth Sensing Satellites might be applicable to supporting the warfighter, or how a financial tool developed to support NOAA can apply directly to a defense system to provide meaningful insights into spend planning.

How important is mentorship & networking in GovCon? Were they influential to your career?

I鈥檓 fortunate to have had a wide array of mentors throughout my career. Having only worked for 91快活林 Federal, I recognize the limitations that inherently come with a monolithic perspective. Having a wide network of mentors and colleagues with which to share ideas and gain perspective has been instrumental to my success in this industry.

I am a voracious reader, from business books to articles, science fiction to historical biographies. Casting a wide net allows me to see connections and gain insights that I would have otherwise missed. The same is true for my personal network and connections with mentors and mentees alike.

What is something most people don鈥檛 know about you personally?

In my spare time I love volunteering with youth sports organizations. I have a 14-year-old son who loves hockey, lacrosse, and running. I grew up playing none of those sports but have worked with our community to support these small volunteer groups. Now I鈥檓 a coach and I run the board for my town鈥檚 youth lacrosse league. I love the community and helping to shape our next generation into hard-working, resilient athletes鈥 who are, at the end of the day, good humans.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Jennifer Felix, President and CEO of 91快活林 Federal, has been awarded the first-ever Legacy Heroine Award by the March of Dimes Heroines of Washington at their . This prestigious honor recognizes her commitment to leading with purpose and helping to strengthen communities across the Capital region.

The Heroines of Washington program, now in its third decade, is more than just an awards ceremony, this initiative celebrates women in the D.C. metropolitan area who make a meaningful impact beyond their job titles. , the organization behind this award, has been at the forefront of maternal and infant health for over 80 years, leading the fight for the health of all families.

A Legacy of Leadership and Service

Jennifer鈥檚 career in government contracting is marked by a commitment to ethical innovation and a drive to deliver solutions that truly serve the public good. But her influence extends far beyond our company walls. At 91快活林 Federal, Jennifer has consistently championed initiatives to build stronger and more meaningful impact in the communities our employees work and live. She has been a vocal advocate for veteran hiring initiatives, STEM outreach programs and expanding professional development opportunities for employees.

The Legacy Heroine Award specifically acknowledges her deep personal commitment to maternal and infant health, a cause central to the March of Dimes mission. Jennifer has been a member of the Heroines of Washington Awards board since 2017 and served as co-chair for four consecutive years from 2018 to 2021, elevating the awards program to new heights. Since then, she has worked behind the scenes as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and building a corporate giving initiative to benefit the March of Dimes. In the last four years, 91快活林 Federal employees have participated in annual March for Babies and have generated nearly $1M towards the organization鈥檚 mission. The company鈥檚 support goes beyond the annual March for Babies walk to include volunteer involvement and sponsorship of the March of Dimes鈥 Heroines of Washington event.

Reflecting on the honor, Jennifer shared her perspective:

鈥淎s an organization, 91快活林 Federal has come together to support the March of Dimes because their purpose is focused on advocating for families. Their mission resonates and connects with our shareholders because Alaska Native women have a higher risk of mortality in childbirth…When you don鈥檛 have a health pregnancy, it affects the family in so many ways. Their mission of supporting the health of women and babies and ultimately the health of the whole family is vitally important. I hope my legacy of work with the March of Dimes really inspires others to get involved.鈥
