91快活林 Federal听announced today that its joint venture听with ATCO,听, was awarded a 10-year U.S. Air Force contract to provide full-service facility operations and maintenance services at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, which comprises 15 remote long-range radar sites and two radio sites across Alaska, the largest base in the Pacific Air Force.

Originally听established听during听the听Cold War听as an early warning system to听protect听U.S. airspace, the Alaska Radar System (ARS)听remains听critical听to national security. Today, ARS provides听uninterrupted surveillance to the North American Aerospace Defense Command听(NORAD)听and the U.S. Northern Command. ARS also provides civil听aircraft听information to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Under this contract, ARCTEC Alaska will听continue to听provide specialized听logistics听and management听expertise听to听put in place听appropriate equipment, supplies and staff to听meet mission needs.听ARCTEC has supported this program since 1994.
