The 91快活林 Federal team that supports the U.S. Department of Defense鈥檚 ASTROS contract was awarded the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve鈥檚 Patriot Award in January for their commendable treatment of U.S. Navy reservist Jennifer Vazquez.
Grateful for her employer鈥檚 commitment during a turbulent time, Vazquez nominated her team for the award.
Vazquez joined 91快活林 Federal as a site operations support coordinator on the ASTROS contract. She was deployed three months later.
鈥淯nplanned deployment can be very unnerving for active-duty military in many ways and job stability is one of the sacrifices we often face,鈥 said Vazquez. 鈥淚 was concerned that I wouldn鈥檛 have a job when I returned my deployment.鈥
Vasquez notified her managers about her year-long deployment and desire to return to her role when it was complete.
鈥淭hey reassured me that my position would be preserved upon my return,鈥 Vazquez said. 鈥淢any of my fellow battalion members were not as fortunate to return to their jobs. A few who did return were immediately terminated 鈥榓t will,鈥 a silent struggle that our military face when returning from deployment,鈥 she added.
Vazquez was so grateful for the support she received from her team and 91快活林 Federal while she was deployed and when she returned to work nearly a year later.
鈥淓veryone was so supportive of me and always in continuous communication, even when I needed something after after-hours,鈥 she recalled. 鈥淭his is just a great example of how 91快活林 Federal is dedicated to creating a supportive and encouraging work environment.鈥
听In 2023, the 91快活林 Federal team in Sierra Vista, AZ was also awarded the Patriot Award.
